July 2025 – DivestUSS Petition for Ethical Investing
Although not relevant to members of CPF and other LGPS funds, the DivestUSS campaign have set up a petition to the USS for more ethical investing, well supported by their research.
Our members could encourage friends and family employed in universities to consider signing it.
- As the climate crisis worsens, the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) is still investing our pension money in the fossil fuel companies and banks that cause the crisis. We want USS to commit urgently to divest from fossil fuels and use our money to transition companies to clean energy.
- Please join the DivestUSS campaign to clean up our pension scheme and send our petition to the Chair and Board of Directors of USS (target: 5,000 signatories)
